About Yong-guk Cho

Mr. Cho is the founding partner and former managing partner of Shinsegaelaw and currently serves as senior counsel on criminal matters. Before entering private practice, he spent more than two decades as a prosecutor, serving in senior positions including Chief Prosecutor of the Special Investigation Divisions at the Seoul District Prosecutors’ Office, Deputy Chief Prosecutor of the Incheon District Prosecutors’ Office, Director of the Legal Affairs Division at the Ministry of Justice, and Chief Prosecutor of the Uijeongbu and Busan Eastern Branch Offices.

His prosecutorial career included major criminal investigations, statutory interpretation, and supervision of complex investigative proceedings. At Shinsegaelaw, he provides strategic advice on criminal matters, including cases arising in connection with divorce and other family disputes.

Mr. Cho passed the 12th National Judicial Examination and completed the second class of the Judicial Research and Training Institute. He graduated from Seoul National University College of Law and later earned an M.C.L. degree in the United States.
